From the moment we moved out to this 24-hectare slice of paradise, our dream was clear: to create a space where guests can relax, reconnect with nature, and experience luxury while treading lightly on the earth.

This land has a rich history. In 1974, our Grandad purchased the property and, being a true renaissance man, built a completely off-grid solar system from materials he could find. His ingenuity and respect for the environment sparked a lifelong journey of sustainable living - a journey we proudly continue today. Every corner of our retreat reflects these values, guided by the principles of reduce, reuse, repair, repurpose, rethink and recycle, while offering the comforts of a premium eco-friendly retreat in the Snowy Mountains.

More than 50 years later, we are still 100% off-grid, always learning new ways to live lightly and care for the land. At Freaks of Nature Retreat, we combine luxury camping near Jindabyne with genuine sustainability: high-end safari tents, cosy alpine comforts, private bathrooms, outdoor bathtubs, and fully equipped camping kitchens that cover the finer things like coffee machines and dishwashers - all designed to let you enjoy the best of the Snowy Mountains without compromising the environment.
